Mercedes presents new AMG versions of the A-Class and CLA

Taking into account one of our most recent road tests, one of the A-Class models, the star brand now presents the new AMG versions of the A-Class and CLA, joining the recently launched A180 BE Edition, A250 4MATIC and A 45 AMG 4MATIC.
The launch brings an appeal that will undoubtedly carry great weight for lovers of high performance, since both models combine a four-cylinder engine producing no less than 360 horsepower, the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world, according to Mercedes.
Performance figures reach levels typical of much more expensive and powerful sports cars. Both the A-Class and the CLA are capable of reaching 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h, electronically limited from the factory. All this with a consumption of just 6.9 litres per hundred kilometres, complying with the Euro 6 pollutant emissions standard.
But these two new AMG models offer more than raw power, as they also provide a respectable level of manoeuvrability, both at high speed and on slippery or low-grip surfaces. Both models will incorporate 4Matic all-wheel drive, in addition to a Speedshift DCT seven-speed AMG gearbox.
