Kia has confirmed the launch details of the new GT version of the pro_cee’d for our country. It is the first compact from the South Korean brand capable of seriously challenging European “GTI” models. Although the badge also appears on the five-door body, in Spain it will only be available on this one. Its arrival is scheduled for September, and reservations will open a little earlier.

The pro_cee’d GT is distinguished by the front grille with the GT logo, the redesigned front bumper with a larger air intake featuring internal mesh, the four-piece square fog lights with LED lights, the specific 18-inch alloy wheels, the red brake calipers, the sporty side skirts, the rear bumper with a diffuser, or the dual exhaust outlets.

Inside, it is characterized by the sporty Recaro seats, red stitching, the GT logo on the steering wheel and seats, and aluminum pedals. The instrument cluster has two configurations: “analog” and “GT”, the latter customizable. As we already mentioned during its first previews, the engine chosen is the turbocharged 1.6 GDI with 204 CV and a maximum torque of 265 Nm. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, with which it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and reaches 230 km/h.

The pro_cee’d GT will arrive in Spain at a price of 28,650 euros, taxes included, which will be reduced to 23,185 with the initial promotional campaign. It will be available in two colors: solid red and metallic white for an extra 488 euros. In addition, Kia has also announced the launch of a limited edition of 500 units (Spain will receive an as-yet undetermined number), inspired by the model displayed at its presentation at the Paris Motor Show in 2012. It differs in its wheels and exterior mirrors painted in gloss black, the red LED lighting of the instrument cluster, inserts with the GT logo, and the plaque with the unit number.
