Mercedes unveils the GLE 450 AMG 4Matic with a photo gallery

The Sport AMG family has a new member, of which we can see a few images that show us what this SUV model joining the range has to offer. The engine that powers the Mercedes GLE 450 AMG 4Matic is identical to the other two existing 450 models, the C-Class 450 AMG and the GLE 450 AMG Coupe.

It is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 powertrain that delivers a power output of 362 CV and a maximum torque of 520 Nm. The engine is coupled to a nine-speed 9G Tronic gearbox, which allows it to achieve very good efficiency while sending power to all four wheels through the 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

In addition to the engine, the Mercedes GLE 450 AMG 4Matic features AMG suspension and the Sports Direct-Steer system, which allow for a more sporty and enjoyable driving experience. The combination of all these factors gives this model an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, its consumption is rated at 8.6 litres per 100 km, and its emissions are 199 g/km.

The five driving modes this SUV offers make driving even better. These are Individual, Comfort, Slippery, Sport and Sport Plus. Each one provides different characteristics for different types of terrain and driving styles. The throttle response, power delivery, steering and other parameters are adjusted to adapt the car’s behaviour to each of the settings.

Handling improves in this model thanks to the 40:60 torque split. As this is higher at the rear, it allows better control of the steering. In addition, the presence of the ASR and ESP systems with Curve Dynamic Assist and the 4ETS four-wheel traction control helps to maintain absolute control of the vehicle even in the most delicate situations.

On the exterior, we see details that make it a very sporty model, such as the chrome exhausts or the 20-inch alloy wheels with five black-painted spokes. The interior also reflects this sporty character thanks to the steering wheel covered in nappa leather, stainless steel pedals with rubber grips and round sporty dials in the instrument cluster.
