MG begins sales of the new ZS Hybrid+ in Spain, presented in August
MG took advantage of the ZS update to introduce the Hybrid+ hybrid powertrain, which goes on sale in Spain at a competitive price

We may like them or not, but what is undeniable is that MG has got off to a good start in the European market, including Spain, where they offer an increasingly broad and varied range of cars at a price that few brands can match today. Not in terms of performance, obviously, but in offering a fairly attractive value for money for most people.
In August we were presented with the latest addition to their range: the MG ZS Hybrid+, which, in addition to being updated in several areas, the English brand has taken the opportunity to introduce the new Hybrid+ hybrid powertrain, thus following in the footsteps of other models that received it earlier, such as the MG3 or the MG HS.

If the MG ZS was already an attractive vehicle with other engines, it will be even more so now with this Hybrid+ powertrain, much more in line with what customers demand: keeping the comforts of a petrol engine without restrictions on access to urban centres. And obviously, as a good hybrid, it will carry the ECO DGT environmental label.

This powertrain pairs a 1,500 cc petrol engine producing 102 CV with an electric motor producing 136 CV, a combination that delivers a combined power of 194 CV, sent to the front axle to reach 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds. It also features a new independent generator that enables a wide variety of operating modes for the propulsion system, and a new automatic gearbox that is smoother and quieter and also allows faster and more direct gear changes.

Not forgetting that this plug-in hybrid system is paired with an NCM lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.83 kWh and 350 V, which is recharged by the 45 kW high-efficiency generator. With this setup the MG ZS is able to achieve a consumption of 5.0 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 115 g/km, all on the combined cycle according to WLTP.
Like the rest of the range, the MZ ZS Hybrid+ offers interesting standard equipment from its entry-level trim, called Comfort, which already includes, among others, the following:
- Full LED front and rear lighting
- 12.3-inch HD infotainment screen
- Navigation and connected services
- 7-inch digital cockpit
- Rear parking sensors
- Rear camera
- Light sensor
- Rain sensor
- Keyless entry

The second trim is called Luxury, which adds elements such as the following to the previous trim:
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- Tinted rear windows
- Leather-style upholstery
- Heated front seats and steering wheel
- Driver’s seat with 6-way electric adjustment and lumbar support
- 360° surround-view camera

Besides the trims, and available across the whole range, the MG ZS comes equipped with the improved Pilot package, which includes safety and driver assistance systems such as:
- Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection
- Lane Keeping Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist
- Driver Attention Alert
- Forward Collision Warning
- Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Intelligent Speed Assist
The new MG ZS Hybrid+ is already available on the Spanish market, with prices starting from €21,990 for the Comfort trim, while the Luxury trim starts from €23,990.
