Michelín and Repsol join forces in a road safety campaign

Michelín and Repsol have once again teamed up to offer a free tyre check at 50 service stations across the Iberian Peninsula. Any driver can benefit from a free tyre check at participating Repsol stations.

We are about to enter the period when the most car journeys take place, and it is when it is most important to make sure the car is in good condition. For this reason Michelín and Repsol have joined forces to run a road safety campaign in which they will check the condition of the tyres of many cars travelling across the Iberian Peninsula.

Some 12,000 vehicles are expected to pass through the participating service stations, where their tyres will be checked for condition and pressure. The aim is to raise drivers’ awareness that tyres are a fundamental part of road safety, especially during the summer months, when there are so many vehicles on the roads.

This year the data collection systems have been improved compared with previous campaigns, and during this edition the pressure and condition of the tyres of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and off-road vehicles will be checked free of charge, regardless of the tyre brand. In other words, the tyres do not need to be Michelín.

The campaign will start on 13 June and run until 2 August. At weekends 13 Repsol service stations across the Peninsula will carry out this action, on Fridays and Saturdays between 11:00 and 14:00 and 15:00 and 20:00. The participating service stations will change each weekend, so that by the end of the campaign every Spanish province will have had a nearby station taking part in the initiative.

In total there will be 50 participating service stations, covering almost the whole of Spain and Portugal. Tyres are essential to road safety, and both companies have joined forces to improve their condition and avoid risky situations, since every driver who goes through the check will receive a sheet with the results and, if necessary, some recommendations.
