Michelin equips the new Pilot Sport EV tyres on the new BYD SEALION 7 with 530 CV
BYD SEALION 7: the all-electric SUV that combines 530 CV of power, 502 km of range and MICHELIN tyres
Michelin, the brand that is fitted on 7 out of every 10 premium electrified vehicles, has teamed up with BYD to bring the SEALION 7 to the European market, a fully electric coupé-style SUV that combines sustainability, technology and high performance. With an annual investment of 1,200 million euros in research and development, Michelin has developed the Pilot Sport EV tyres, designed specifically to maximise the performance of electric vehicles such as this SUV, standing out for their energy efficiency and durability.

Tyres play a fundamental role in electric vehicles, and the BYD SEALION 7 knows this well. The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV, specially designed for sporty electric vehicles, offer a unique combination of durability, efficiency and acoustic comfort. Among their most notable technologies are:
- ElectricGrip Compound: a high-rigidity compound in the central tread section that optimises the transmission of the high torque of electric vehicles.
- GreenPower Compound: a special formulation that improves energy efficiency, maximising battery range.
- MaxTouch Construction: a structure optimised for excellent wear resistance, essential in heavy vehicles such as the SEALION 7 at 2,435 kg.
- Acoustic Technology: polyurethane foam inside the tyre that reduces the noise perceived inside the cabin.
In addition, the MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV stand out for being CO2-emission neutral at the time of purchase and for their Premium Touch design with velvety finishes.

The SEALION 7 comes in two mechanical configurations: one with a single motor and rear-wheel drive, and another with two motors and all-wheel drive. Its most powerful version delivers 530 CV and a torque of 690 Nm, allowing it to reach 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Range, key for electric vehicle users, is up to 502 kilometres under the WLTP cycle, making it an ideal option for long journeys without the need for constant recharging.
