MINI celebrates its 60th anniversary with a journey across Europe in two iconic cars
MINI wants to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a journey across the whole of Europe in two iconic cars from the brand, decorated for the occasion by street artist CHEBA

MINI is in celebration mode this year, as it marks its 60 years on the market. That will be the motto of the many parties and celebrations that enthusiast clubs around the world hold for this model. But something special is needed to make this celebration much more than a standalone party held by each of the clubs across Europe, so the brand has pulled out all the stops and created a special event.
The event consists of a road trip through several European countries with two of the brand’s most iconic models. One of them will be a first-generation MINI Cooper, which the brand recently brought back. The other car is a classic MINI convertible, so we are looking at two MINI milestones, which have also been decorated for the occasion.

Both models have received a special livery created by CHEBA, a street artist who has proposed a very original design that will certainly make everyone turn their heads to look at them. The route these two MINIs will follow, which could also be joined by a MINI Countryman Cooper SE, the plug-in hybrid model, pays tribute to Alec Issigonis.

MINI SPECIAL 60TH ANNIVERSARY
The creator of the MINI, who launched the design in 1959, had Greek, British and German roots, so the route will begin in Athens and end in Bristol, passing through cities such as Sofia, Belgrade, Bratislava, Vienna, Prague, Dresden, Rotterdam and Oxford, where they will meet the MINI enthusiast clubs from these cities, who will be celebrating the date with their MINIs from every era.
The route will start on 25 July and cover these and other cities until arriving in Bristol on 11 August, when the anniversary will be commemorated with a large party. Unfortunately, they will not be passing through Spain, so we will miss the spectacular design created by CHEBA, but at least we have some photos to give us an idea of what he has achieved.
