MINI models lead the way when it comes to premium city cars. And it’s not just now: the brand’s classic variants remain very sought-after cars, with strong demand from buyers who want to keep enjoying one of those models from the earlier incarnation of the British brand. In 2019 the MINI Remastered Oselli Edition was presented by David Brown Automotive and today, at last, it is finally leaving the workshop for its buyers.

This model is based on the classic MINI and is a restomod version of it, in a high-performance limited edition. To shape it, it has relied on the collaboration of Oselli, a company specialised in restoring classic cars. The look of this entirely retro model has been carefully crafted to give it the appearance of a competition car and it is very appealing, especially to MINI fans who want to look back and enjoy the classic variant.

Ready for competition

The MINI Remastered Oselli Edition is ready to be enjoyed on the track as well as serving as an everyday car. To do so it has upgraded suspension. The braking system has also been optimised and it wears 13-inch wheels with stickier tyres to keep the engine it carries under control.

Inside, buyers of this limited edition can choose whether they want four seats or just two. In the second case the front seats are racing seats and it fits a roll cage to improve safety. The model features the revised A-Series engine, which reaches 1.45 litres and is fed by twin SU carburettors, among other improvements and upgrades.

The engine delivers 109 CV of power, 40% more than the original model. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. The specifications of this powertrain have not yet been announced, but it is expected to comfortably exceed everything the version it was based on offered.

Development of this version was affected by the pandemic and it should have gone on sale in 2020. Either way, the 60 units making up this special edition will begin leaving the workshop at the end of April. Their buyers have had to pay 109,000 euros to get one.
