Cooper SE MINI Convertibles Electric Cars Urban
MINI unveils an electric convertible concept
This is a showcar that for the time being will not go into production, although it does not rule out that it could be prepared to reach the market soon.

The success being achieved by the electric MINI, which is helping the British brand under the BMW umbrella achieve good results with the proposal, has led to new electric models beginning to emerge. At least, in the form of concept cars. This is the case of the MINI Cooper SE Cabrio, which has been presented with an electric powertrain.
This presentation took place during an event in the United States, where this convertible model equipped with an electric motor was shown, dispensing with the hybrid powertrain that is generally fitted to the car. For the time being, there are no plans to take this model through to production, although they do not rule out that it could reach the assembly plant in the not-too-distant future.

An electric MINI Cooper SE Cabrio
The external architecture of the MINI Cooper SE Cabrio is the same as that of the hybrid model, as was to be expected. What has been changed is the powertrain. This has been replaced by the electric motor found in the MINI Cooper S, which delivers a power output of 135 kW. This equates to 184 CV, more than enough to offer all the performance one would expect from this small but vital city car.

The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is rated at 7.7 seconds, and its battery allows a range of 230 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. The electronically operated soft top can be folded or unfolded in 18 seconds, even while in motion. The maximum speed at which this action can be performed is 30 km/h.
The brand’s progress in electric mobility is evident in the number of electric MINIs sold in Germany. In this country, one in every three MINIs sold is electric. This is helped by the fact that it is one of the countries with the most public chargers, and one of the countries most strongly committed to this type of mobility in Europe.
