Honda announced at the last Paris Motor Show that the new CR-V 2015 will go on sale in Europe in spring 2015. However, the unit we saw on its stand, as was the case with the new HR-V and Jazz, was not yet the final version and its interior design was not revealed either.

The brand has settled the matter today by publishing the first photographs of the SUV, now without the “Prototype” label, including a couple of glimpses of its interior, as well as additional details of its new features. Despite the nickname the CR-V wore in Paris, its design corresponds exactly to the production model. The restyling mainly affects the grille, the bumpers and the chrome strip on the tailgate.

From the cabin, what Honda has chosen to reveal first is the screen for the Honda Connect multimedia system, which will be standard across the entire CR-V range. Larger and with fewer buttons around it than before the update, users will use this screen to access the rear-view camera, the navigation system, the music player and vehicle information, among other functions.

In addition, with MirrorLink technology, occupants can mirror their phone’s interface onto the Honda Connect system screen via a Bluetooth connection. The other interior novelty that Honda shows is the new nine-speed automatic gearbox, which will replace the five-speed unit currently on sale.

This gearbox can be combined with the new i-DTEC 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 160 CV and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. With this configuration, Honda claims the CR-V emits less than 135 g/km of CO2, a reduction of 20 % compared with the five-speed automatic.

The interior of the new CR-V 2015 will stand out for other changes not visible in these photographs. Honda notes in its press release that it has modified the chrome trim on the dashboard, that it has renewed the materials and that between the front seats there will be a new sliding armrest of sixty millimetres.
