Morgan unveils a small teaser of the Plus 8 50th Anniversary, which will be shown in Geneva
Morgan has just released a teaser of the Plus 8 50th Anniversary. It is a special edition of the sports car to celebrate its 50th birthday, and it will be shown in Geneva.

Morgan is one of those companies with a strong personality, since it builds completely different vehicles that are, at the same time, unique. To mark the 50th birthday of one of its models, the British firm has decided to celebrate it by creating a very special vehicle based on the iconic Plus 8. Morgan will unveil this new creation in Geneva but, in the meantime, the brand has decided to get us excited with some images that hint at its silhouette and a short video.
Morgan is a brand founded at the beginning of the last century, specifically in 1909. But, despite the longevity of the English company, it keeps a purely classic design in its vehicles, something that gives them a high level of elegance and, at the same time, exclusivity. With the creation of the Morgan Plus 8 50th Anniversary, these characteristic elements will be accentuated, giving the sports car even more striking performance.
Let’s remember that the Plus 8 is one of those models that has remained frozen in time, but that does not need many aesthetic changes to keep winning hearts. It was in 1968 that this model entered Morgan’s production lines and, 50 years later, it still has the same essence that makes it so special. Thanks to a series of exterior and mechanical changes, the Plus 8 adopts an even more attractive style.

The teaser lets us make out the already familiar shape of the Morgan Plus 8, but in it we can see a blue colour contrasted with several elements painted in yellow, such as the front grille. At the same time, several details reveal that this is a special edition but, without a doubt, the firm has saved the best for its mechanics.
This special edition of the Plus 8 will feature under its bonnet a supercharged 4.8-litre V8 engine built by BMW and capable of producing more than 400 CV. At the same time, the use of an aluminium chassis means the English sports car has a kerb weight of just 1,100 kg, which allows this new creation to reach 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

Without a doubt, this new version will give the brand a strong boost and, at the same time, give the Plus 8 a high level of exclusivity, since only 50 units of this special edition will be built. For now we do not know more details about Morgan’s sports car, but with its presence at the Geneva Motor Show we will learn all the details.
