Neo-Retro Maserati Spyder: a project by Ares Design's
Ares Design has proposed unusual and special designs before, but this may be the most beautiful one to date. The project is called “Wami”, and it is inspired by classic Maseratis.
A Maserati classic with a dazzling look is Ares Design’s new proposal to surprise us all. The name of the project is “Wami”, and its design clearly draws on the past with renewed touches of modernity.
Few details are known about it, especially considering that the project seems to be in the most primitive stages of its development.

Even so, we are dying to learn more about this classic convertible, whose look could not have been achieved with greater subtlety and taste.
It seems it will be fitted with a powerful, modern engine; so much so that rumours suggest it will share many similarities with the recent Ferrari Portofino.
This translates into a engine of 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8, the same unit that also powers the Maserati Quattroporte and the Levante, as well as the Ferrari 488 and the GTC4 Lusso T.

As far as we can see, the interior appears to be elegant and luxurious, fitting perfectly with the spirit and lines of the model. However, as this is not yet entirely official, this could change in the future.
What we find particularly odd, however, are its three pedals, as this clearly indicates it will feature a manual gearbox, which is unusual given that the initial approach seemed to be “retro” in its looks but modern in everything else.

The truth is that, from my point of view, I could not be happier with the decision to give this beauty a manual gearbox.
One way or another, we hope to learn more about this lovely Ares project soon and to inform you in more detail then; until that time, enjoy its enviable look.
