Iveco unveiled at the recent Transpotec Logitec fair held in Verona (Italy), the new all-wheel-drive version Daily 4×4. It is a vehicle derived from the platform of the van that received the prestigious “Van of the Year 2015” award.

The ladder frame chassis is characteristic of the Daily range, as it facilitates bodywork and guarantees robustness in any task it faces. In the case of the new 4×4 model, it stands out for its excellent off-road capabilities. It features parabolic leaf spring suspension on both axles, with an anti-roll bar and double-acting telescopic shock absorbers.

It is available in two versions: one with a single cab and two wheelbase options (3,050 mm or 3,400 mm), and another with a double cab, which can carry up to seven people, with a wheelbase of 3,400 mm. Within the range, customers can also choose between two possible GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) ratings of 3.5 or 5.5 tonnes.

At the front, the bumper is made of steel in three pieces, and at the rear, the frame incorporates an anti-ramming bar that protects the vehicle in the event of a rear impact and can be removed if necessary.

The new Daily 4×4 is equipped with a 3.0-litre F1C four-cylinder, 16-valve engine producing 170 CV. It incorporates a variable geometry turbocharger and common-rail direct injection with high-pressure injection. It complies with the Euro 6 Heavy Duty standard. It combines EGR systems for exhaust gas recirculation and SCR for aftertreatment, ensuring a reduction in polluting emissions and optimised fuel consumption.

The gearbox paired with the engine is a six-speed unit which, together with the 4-range transfer case, gives the vehicle a total of 24 gear ratios. It allows three differential locks (centre, rear and front), with which it can tackle any slope or demanding difficult terrain when driving off-road.

Inside the cab, the driver benefits from excellent visibility thanks to the wide windscreen, improved ergonomics of the new seat, a more efficient air-conditioning system available in manual or automatic versions, and easy-to-reach controls and switches. As standard, it includes ESP 9 electronic stability control, ABS, EBD, Hill Holder, ASR or MSR.

It can be fitted with all-terrain or road tyres, and the front is prepared for various accessories to be installed, such as winches or snowploughs, so it can be adapted to any requirement, terrain or condition.

Thanks to its approach (50º), departure (32º) and breakover (145º) angles, the new Daily 4×4 can be used for civil protection, construction, special maintenance work in high mountain areas, firefighting or leisure and adventure.
