New infotainment system for the Opel Insignia and Insignia Country Tourer

Opel will take advantage of the presentation of the new Insignia and Insignia Country Tourer models, which will take place at the next edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, to showcase the new generation of the infotainment system along with a completely redesigned dashboard.

According to Opel, three criteria were considered in the development and design of both the infotainment system and the dashboard. They aimed for it to be clear and, therefore, intuitive to use, to allow for the highest level of personalisation and, finally, comfort and safety.

This new generation of infotainment is part of the Intellilink range that debuted on Opel’s city car, the Adam, earlier this year. The navigation system with an 8-inch touchscreen features the Navi 900 system and operates quite intuitively, with all the main functions accessible from the home screen.

In addition to the controls of the infotainment system itself, the driver of the Opel Insignia will also be able to operate it using the buttons designed into the steering wheel, as well as via voice commands. The Navi 900 is priced at €1,100 including VAT. Optionally, the advanced Bose sound system can also be fitted, featuring up to nine speakers, two subwoofers, four wideband speakers, tweeters and a digital sound processor. All of this for a price of €655 including VAT.

For its part, the instrument panel also features an 8-inch colour display with high resolution. On it, alongside classic information such as speed, rpm and fuel tank level, other information set by the driver regarding navigation, smartphone use and sound options appears directly in the driver’s line of sight.
