Lancia Ypsilon Range / versions Salón de Frankfurt Urban
New Lancia Ypsilon, a city car with great style and elegance
New Lancia Ypsilon
The fifth generation, of what is the most urban vehicle in the Lancia range, was unveiled as a world premiere at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. More than 2.7 million units of the Lancia Ypsilon have been sold across Europe since it first went on sale in 1985.
Its exterior dimensions, 3.84 m long, 1.68 m wide, 1.52 m high, make it ideal for city driving, as it makes it easier to find a space that fits its size in which to park, among other manoeuvres. It retains its qualities of compactness and versatility.
The design has been reinterpreted by the designers at the Lancia Centro Stile, giving the new Ypsilon a more modern and contemporary touch, highlighting details such as the honeycomb-shaped front grille with chrome inserts along its lower part and topped by the Italian brand’s logo in the upper area. The bumper features the same pattern as the grille, housing chrome details.

The bodywork is now five-door, with the detail that the rear doors conceal the opening handles, making it look like a three-door vehicle. The lines at the rear are fluid and very similar to those of its bigger sibling, the Lancia Delta. To the exterior colours already available, three pastel colours, six metallic/mica finishes and tri-coat white, are joined by “Ivory Chic” and “Blu di Blu”. The new Lancia Ypsilon is available in three trim levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum.
In the Silver trim, the upholstery is printed fabric with a gradient motif, available in a combination of black and grey paired with the new grey dashboard, or in a combination of black and blue paired with the new blue dashboard.
In the Gold trim, the upholstery combines fabric and velour. An irregular three-dimensional geometric motif “Chevron” decorates the backrests and seat areas. The interior combines earth tones and black with an earth-coloured dashboard, while a second combination features black interiors and a black dashboard.
The Platinum trim stands out for its Dinamica fabric combined with leather on the sides of the seats and on the dashboard with geometric motifs adorned with contrasting stitching. These interiors are available in two versions: black leather with black Dinamica fabric or black leather combined with taupe-grey Dinamica fabric.

The instrument cluster is located in the centre of the dashboard, below which sits the Uconnect infotainment system, standard from the Gold trim onwards. From it you can access a wide range of functions, such as the USB port, Bluetooth audio streaming, the auxiliary connector, hands-free Bluetooth telephony with voice recognition, and the SMS reader function.
Uconnect LIVE services are also available. The app can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play Store onto your smartphone. Phone apps can be operated and viewed on the 5″ screen or via the steering wheel controls, and you also get access to the eco:Drive, my:Car and “FIND MyCar” apps. As an option, the Uconnect 5″ Radio Nav LIVE is available, with an integrated TomTom 2.5D navigation system and voice commands.
The engines available for the new Lancia Ypsilon are: two petrol engines, a 1.2-litre 69 CV unit with manual gearbox and a 0.9-litre TwinAir Turbo 85 CV unit combined with the semi-automatic gearbox, a 1.3 MultiJet 95 CV diesel variant, and completing the range are the Ecochic LPG/petrol 1.2 versions with 69 CV and the two-cylinder 0.9 TwinAir Turbo methane/petrol unit with 80 CV. All of them comply with the demanding Euro 6 emissions regulations.
