New LED headlights for the Audi R8

To further complete a supercar, technologically speaking, you have to get in touch with the brand of the four rings, Audi. From now on, the range of equipment available for the Audi R8 now also includes the first full LED front headlights. In addition to the daytime running light that the model has incorporated until now, with 24 LEDs per headlight, this type of diode will also be used for the indicators, the dipped beams and the main beams. This option is added to the list of equipment available for the high-tech, mid-engined supercar, at a price of 4,560 euros.
The important advances of LED technology at the front are, on the one hand, lower energy consumption and, on the other, that by offering a colour closer to daylight a better contrast is achieved and it is easier for the human eye to see. Other advantages of LEDs are that they do not wear out, require very little voltage, are compact and allow greater freedom in design.
Audi has been a pioneer in incorporating LED technology for daytime running lights, a feature currently available on the new models in the Audi range: the A3 and S3, three-door and Sportback, A3 Cabriolet, A4 saloon and Avant, the A5 coupé and its sporty variant S5, S6, S6 Avant, RS6, A8 and S8, TTS and the Audi R8 supercar.
