New Mercedes-Benz Citan, the Small Van with plenty of connectivity and safety is on its way
We tell you the details of the versatile Small Van from the star brand, which will be presented on August 25 and will bring numerous new features to its equipment

The new second generation of the Mercedes-Benz Citan is one of the most anticipated launches this summer. The launch includes the eCitan, the electrified version of the small commercial van which, although presented this very month of August, will not be available for sale until 2022.
Marcus Breitschwerdt, head of Mercedes Vans, has said that “from its unmistakable design to its driving behaviour, including safety and connectivity, the new generation of the Small Van has the DNA of Mercedes-Benz”, which is key for customers who opt for this premium model.
Multiple safety systems
If the new Citan is going to stand out for anything, it is for its safety features. A section to which its specific side-member structure, its seven airbags as standard equipment and a wide list of driver assistance systems will contribute considerably, making its occupants feel very safe.

The new generation will fit everything from hill start assist to crosswind assist, active lane change detection, blind spot monitoring, ABS and ESP, the Attention Assist fatigue warning or speed limit assist, among others.
As for restraint systems, the new Citan Tourer, the version focused on passenger transport, features a large central airbag that deploys between the driver and front passenger in the event of a severe side collision, creating a shield in which they will be completely protected.
MBUX system, the latest from MB
Another major novelty of the Citan is that it will feature the MBUX infotainment system that we have already seen in many new models from the brand, including the bigger sibling of the Citan, the Sprinter.

The new system includes several levels of equipment, although it should be noted that the best-equipped version incorporates a seven-inch touchscreen and Touch Control buttons on the steering wheel, with compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, digital radio and navigation that can be controlled by the voice assistant “Hey Mercedes”.
In short, the new Mercedes-Benz Citan, thanks to its reduced dimensions without sacrificing a great deal of interior space and a high load volume, together with its good finish and its wide equipment in terms of safety and connectivity, positions itself as a vehicle of great functionality and versatility.
Arriving around the corner
As we have already said, the presentation of the full range of the new Citan will take place on August 25 of this same year, and sales will begin from September.
