New Mitsubishi L200; more capable

Mitsubishi has unveiled the new generation of its L200 pick-up, one of the most popular models from the three-diamond brand around the world.

This update brings a redesign both inside and out, as well as technical improvements that make the L200 a much more complete product.

The exterior design now has a more modern look, in line with the latest launches from the Japanese manufacturer. The front stands out for its large headlights with LED daytime running light technology, while the central grille becomes more prominent by increasing in size. The side view has not undergone excessive changes, whether in the single cab or the extended cab version, which is logical given that a pick-up must maintain basic proportions. The rear follows a similar pattern, although the light clusters have been redesigned to offer a more modern look.

Inside, the update is more than evident, with a completely new dashboard that features a more sophisticated design, higher-quality materials and more extensive equipment to make life on board easier and more pleasant.

Mitsubishi has focused much of its effort on improving the driving quality and handling of its pick-up. The L200 is now a more rigid vehicle, which, combined with a redesigned suspension and an updated steering and braking system, results in handling closer to that of a passenger car. Soundproofing has improved noticeably, also helped by the introduction of the new DI-D engines. In Spain it will be sold with two powertrains: the first with 140 CV and 400 Nm, and the second, more powerful and performance-oriented, with 180 CV and 430 Nm.

The renewed L200 will reach our market from summer 2015, with a selling price similar to the current one, although it will be updated as the weeks go by.
