New official photos of the Hyundai Creta ahead of its debut in India

Hyundai unveiled this Saturday the Creta, its new B-segment SUV. The release of the materials and data came from its Indian subsidiary, where the model will debut on 21 July when sales begin in that market. The Asian country will manufacture it locally at the Sriperumbudur plant, southeast of Chennai.
Some images published a few days ago on social media of a unit spotted outdoors without camouflage dispelled any doubt about its exterior design: as my colleague Víctor already anticipated when the sketch was published, it is identical to the ix25 offered in China. Hyundai has not specified whether it will change, and how, in its version intended for Europe.

The Creta, like the ix25, is built on the i20 platform and uses the new Hive architecture. Hyundai highlights as its main feature that the various chassis components are arranged to form a ring that increases its rigidity without compromising the precision of the handling and the stability on the road.
In India, the Creta will be sold with a 1.6-litre Gamma Dual VTVT petrol engine producing 123 CV and two diesel options, although it has only revealed the power of the 1.6-litre CRDi VGT, which will produce 128 CV. The latter will be the only alternative combinable with an automatic transmission.

Its safety equipment will include ABS, stability control, hill-start assist, side and curtain airbags and a rear-view camera, a very complete package for a car aimed at the general Indian public. On-board comfort will be provided by leather upholstery or an automatic air conditioner with an air purifier, while in terms of technology the 5-inch touchscreen multimedia and navigation system with 1 GB of internal memory will stand out.
Hyundai has yet to specify when it will announce more details about the European version. If it follows its usual schedule, there is a possibility of seeing it at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but other reports pointed to 2016 for its arrival on this continent.
