New Skoda Octavia Scout: the most versatile allroad family saloon

The Skoda Scout offers good off-road capabilities, generous interior space and introduces some of the most advanced driver assistance systems on the market.

Skoda launches the most versatile Octavia in the range, the Skoda Scout. This allroad family saloon features state-of-the-art all-wheel drive and a towing capacity of up to 2 tonnes. The Skoda Octavia Scout stands out for its good off-road capabilities and its generous interior space. It also incorporates some of the most advanced driver assistance systems on the market.

The engine range of the Skoda Scout consists of a 1.8 TSI petrol unit with 150 CV, and two 2.0 TDI diesels with 150 CV and 180 CV. The official consumption of the petrol engine is 6.8 l/100 km, while the diesel engines consume almost the same: 5.0 and 5.1 l/100 km respectively.

The Skoda Octavia Scout excels in off-road driving. The ground clearance of the saloon has been increased by 30 mm compared with the Combi version. It also features the EDL system, which electronically locks the differential, allowing the car to pull away smoothly on difficult surfaces by delivering equal traction to both axles. In addition, it has an off-road function that maintains the vehicle’s speed by regulating braking without the driver having to do anything.

The interior space available in this Skoda Scout is particularly generous for its segment. The boot has a capacity of 610 litres, which rises to 1,740 litres with the rear seats folded down. The most notable feature of this family saloon is its width of 1,010 mm, which is especially practical for transporting bulky loads.

Finally, the Skoda Scout introduces some of the most innovative driver assistance systems on the market. In addition to the already well-known “Trailer Assist”, “Blind Spot Detect” and “Rear Traffic Alert”, the family saloon introduces “Crew Protect Assist”, which in the event of an imminent accident closes the windows and sunroof and even tensions the front seatbelts. Furthermore, “Front Assist” and “Park Assist” have been refined with new functions such as City Emergency Braking and Predictive Pedestrian Protection.
