New VW ID.3: under €30,000 and 550 km of range

Volkswagen presents the new electric car in Spain. The VW ID.3 promises a range of up to 550 km and a starting price of less than 30,000 euros.

After its unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Spanish capital has witnessed the debut of the first model in the ID. Family from Volkswagen. The Germans are confident that this year will be crucial for boosting electric vehicle sales, which is why the ID.3 arrives at the perfect moment.

This model family has just unveiled the first of many. Now it is the turn of the compact segment, and according to Volkswagen the next will be the SUV segment. It will arrive at the end of the year and will be the second ID. model. As we mentioned, the Germans want to have a model from this range in every segment of the brand.

Engines and trim levels

Reservations for this new zero-emission model have been open for months, but orders will open in spring. The new VW ID.3 will go on sale with 5 different power outputs, 3 ranges and different trim levels.

The official presentation in Spain has brought us all its details. The power variants of the new German electric car will be: 126 CV, 145 CV, 150 CV, 160 CV and 204 CV. As for trim levels, the equipment nomenclature will be: Pure, Pro and Pro S. The Pure version will have a battery with a total capacity of 45 kWh and a range of 330 km. The Pro trim will feature a 58 kWh battery and the capacity to travel up to 420 km, while the largest battery will be associated with the Pro S trim, with a capacity of 77 kWh and a real-world range of up to 550 km.

From under €30,000, for sure

Although no prices are known yet, since the official launch has not taken place, VW has given a price range depending on the trim level. The entry price, for the Pure version, will be below 30,000 euros. For the top-of-the-range version no prices are known, but we do know that the Pro version will be below 36,000 euros.

For those reluctant to buy outright, VW has also offered a renting solution. With a deposit of 3,325 euros and a monthly fee of 275 € plus VAT, we can enjoy an ID.3 from its launch next spring. The rental offer the Germans are providing is genuinely competitive.
