Nissan already surpasses Toyota in sales in Europe and Asia

Nissan surpasses Toyota in new vehicle sales in almost all European markets and in Asia, where the authority of Toyota had always been unquestioned. Of course, the success of Nissan is due to its partnership with Renault and to the problems that Toyota has faced since the earthquake in Japan.
In short, Nissan has won part of the European market with a 16.2% increase, while Toyota has lost ground, ceding a -9.7% share.
If we consider Nissan as a brand on its own, we see that even if it has not surpassed Toyota, it is dangerously close. Simply looking at sales in Spain, with the Nissan Qashqai becoming the second best-seller, is enough to confirm it.
In other markets such as France, the brand ranks in sixth place in sales, well ahead of Toyota and still behind the European brands, with its partner Renault at the top.
Carlos Ghosn must be more than pleased, since, from the moment he took over leadership of the whole group, both Nissan and Renault have become highly profitable brands.
