The manufacturer has teamed up with the fast-food restaurant brand to offer a very special prize to Japanese consumers, one that will not reach here.

Big brands often team up with other types of companies to run joint marketing campaigns. One of the companies most open to this kind of initiative is McDonald’s, the well-known fast-food chain. And since it is also present in Japan, it is no surprise that some of the Nissan models have become part of the toys offered with the Happy Meal, the restaurants’ children’s menu.

But this time they wanted to go a step further: besides turning the new Nissan GT-R Nismo into one of the toys that can be found in children’s menus, there is a model conveniently decorated to be a Nissan McDonald’s. It is the Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition, which was presented recently and shows that with a few changes this model can remain very attractive to fans of high-performance cars.

The special edition was presented with bodywork painted in a shade called Stealth Grey, but for the special promotion with the fast-food chain a golden colour was chosen, in which the black roof and bonnet stand out, creating an eye-catching contrast. This colour is also present on other parts of the bodywork, such as the rear spoiler, where the McDonald’s inscription can also be seen.

This model will be unique and will allow the lucky winners of a prize draw to drive it at the Grandrive test track of Nissan. The winner will be able to try it on the track, but will also be able to take a lap accompanied by an experienced driver to enjoy this model to the full.

Only two families will be eligible for this prize, although there may be three drivers in each of them. That said, the 20 finalists in this draw will receive a gift card with an image of the car. It’s not the same, but it’s a limited-edition card and there are only 20. Luckily, this model will also be available on the children’s menu, though there is a catch.

Most of the toy cars included in the Happy Set, which is what the menu is called there, reproduce the production version of the car, painted grey. Only a few lucky customers will have the chance to own this special variant of the model. A chance that consumers in the rest of the world will not have, leaving us without the possibility of enjoying this variant exclusive to Japan.
