A few months ago I had the chance to test a Nissan Juke 1.6 Turbo petrol with 190 CV and all-wheel drive at a Crossovers presentation held by the brand. Apart from leaving a childlike smile on my face, I realised that both the platform and the powertrain had plenty of potential.

It seems Japan was thinking along similar lines, because today the Nissan Juke Nismo was unveiled, the sportiest version of the small SUV. The Nissan Juke Nismo is the first model developed by Nissan Motorsport (Nismo), the brand’s division tasked with creating a sports car from the base of a regular road car.

On the outside, this vehicle differs from the rest of the range thanks to a more aggressive and larger grille, widened wheel arches, a diffuser and a rear spoiler, side skirts, and a two-tone body paint, white and red.

Inside the cabin, the standout features are sports seats upholstered in Alcantara-style fabric embroidered with “Nismo”, a steering wheel also wrapped in Alcantara, and a sportier instrument cluster where the rev counter is painted red.

Mechanically, where you might expect major upgrades, the car uses the same 1.6 DIG-T petrol engine as the 190 CV version, but for this application it has been tuned up to 200 CV. As standard it comes with a six-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive, but for an extra cost you can opt for a CVT automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

There is no official confirmation of the Nissan Juke Nismo’s price yet, but we believe that with the latest options it could sit around 30,000 EUR.
