Nissan Micra 2017: now available with a three-cylinder engine and 70 CV
The naturally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine joins the previous options (both 90 CV). The new unit offers a consumption of 4.6 litres/100 km.
The new Nissan Micra, which hit the market in early 2017, has added a new engine to its range. The Japanese compact has completed its range of powertrains with the arrival of a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit, 70 CV of power and 95 Nm of torque.
Although it is the last of the three engines that Nissan has put on sale, it could play a very important role in the commercial success of the Micra; Nissan estimates it will account for approximately 20 % of city car sales.
The three-cylinder petrol engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. It is a highly efficient, low-emission propulsion system (103 g/km) with fairly modest consumption (4.6 litres per hundred kilometres).

The new 1.0-litre engine joins the turbocharged three-cylinder petrol unit of 0.9 litres (90 CV), as well as the diesel engine with four cylinders and 1.5 litres (90 CV); both went on sale at the beginning of this year.
The new Micra is longer, wider and lower than before. Its exterior design is now more athletic and expressive than its predecessor’s.

The new Nissan Micra is also a technological pioneer, as it includes several features that are a first in the segment. These technologies include Lane Departure Prevention, a safety system that gently steers the Micra back into its lane when it detects that the driver is clearly drifting out of position.
The BOSE Personal audio system is also exclusive to the Micra, as it incorporates a set of speakers built into the driver’s headrest that deliver a rich surround sound.
