Nissan Vmotion 3.0: the electric crossover will debut as a prototype at the end of the year
The Nissan crossover will be electric, will incorporate an autonomous connectivity system and will offer the latest in connectivity. It will be called Vmotion 3.0

Nissan has begun work on a new 100% electric crossover that it will first unveil to the world as a prototype. The Nissan model will debut at the end of this year, will be called Vmotion 3.0 and will follow in the footsteps of the Vmotion 2.0 concept that debuted at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year; a family saloon that previewed the design lines of future generations and that was presented under the concept “emotional geometry”. The Japanese brand’s crossover will be electric, will incorporate on-the-go connectivity (portable) and autonomous driving technology.

The new models could incorporate low floors, new types of aerodynamics and narrow, low-resistance tyres According to Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s global head of design, the new concept will be presented after the second generation of the Leaf and will offer a completely revolutionary look. “Why not try something new? In the future we will not have just one electric model, so we are beginning to define what the DNA of this class of models will be. The new models could incorporate low floors, new types of aerodynamics and narrow, low-resistance tyres,” says Nissan’s head of design.
For its part, Nissan’s executive vice president of the electric car division, Daniele Schillaci, stated in an interview with Automotive News that developing an electric crossover is a natural step for the brand. “We are very focused on developing an electric crossover, because it is in our DNA. Our new crossover will incorporate the latest innovations from the Nissan Intelligent Mobility programme,” says Schillaci.

Nissan intends to develop an electric crossover to take advantage of the boom in sales the SUV / crossover segment is experiencing; a vehicle category that is delivering great results thanks to models such as the Nissan Qashqai, Juke or Rogue.
We still do not know the exact date on which the Nissan prototype will be presented, nor when the production version of this electric crossover will reach the market.
