Nissan Primastar 'Seaside by Dethleffs', the Japanese camper with a British touch

The market for camper vans and motorhomes is becoming increasingly popular and is growing strongly. More and more independent companies are building this type of vehicle on different platforms, but they also collaborate with the major manufacturers to adapt their models to users’ needs. Dethleffs is a British company that has worked alongside Nissan and has just unveiled this model.

It is a conversion of a Nissan Primastar, one of the most popular commercial vehicles of the Japanese brand. It is called Primastar ‘Seaside by Dethleffs’ and aims to position itself against other similar vehicles. It measures 5.08 metres in length, 1.96 metres in width and reaches a height of 2.04 metres. With these dimensions, in addition to being a practical motorhome, it is perfectly suitable for getting around the city.

Six seats for enjoying your free time

The Nissan Primastar ‘Seaside by Dethleffs’ allows up to six people to travel. Two of them can sleep in the pop-up tent on the vehicle’s roof. This is a double and can support up to 240 kg without any problem. In the rear cabin there is another bed measuring 2×1.25 metres, also for two adults.

As standard, there are two seats at the rear, which can be increased to four as an option. These rear seats can be positioned individually thanks to rails that allow great flexibility in the use of space. The front seats can be swivelled to face the rear ones. The dining table can be attached to the kitchen console and can also be used from outside the vehicle.

The kitchen has two burners and also includes a sink. These elements are covered by a glass hob cover. There are also four drawers and a sliding space for storing kitchen and camping equipment, which offers plenty of room for storage.

It has a small 36-litre fridge and a compartment for a gas cylinder. The 29-litre water tank. Lighting is provided by LED lights fitted to the upper slats and the overhead cabinet.

As for the engine, this model is offered with a twin-turbo diesel unit of 150 or 170 CV, both paired with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. It features air conditioning, several driver assistance systems and a navigation system with an 8-inch touchscreen.

This model will be available at specialist Nissan dealerships from summer 2022, so it may be a good choice for your next leisure vehicle.
