Oettinger squeezes 400 CV out of the VW Golf R
German tuner Oettinger has announced the launch of a new tuning package for the Golf R. The exterior look becomes slightly sportier, while on the technical side, up to 400 CV is achievable thanks to the numerous upgrades carried out.

The VW Golf R seems to be all the rage. Lately everyone is talking about it, and versions based on this R keep appearing non-stop.
This time, it’s the turn of Oettinger, which already has its own “interpretation” of the German compact ready.
The wheels change, with a choice of 2 different models. In addition, the German tuner has added a small spoiler on the front bumper which, together with the new sill covers and the rear wing, gives the Golf R a more aggressive look, in keeping with the performance of this very special compact.

No changes have been specified for the interior, although Oettinger is expected to add some distinctive details, such as sports pedals, specific floor mats, and a sportier shift knob and steering wheel.
As for the mechanical tuning, the Germans have gone all out, fitting a larger-diameter turbo as well as various mechanical reinforcements. In addition, the ECU has been reprogrammed. The result of these upgrades is a final output of 400 CV, similar to that which VW offered in the concept R 400.

A somewhat less intense tune is also available, in which power stays at 360 CV, more than enough to leave more than one sports car trembling.
Performance is excellent, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h.
