Official! This is what the interior of the Škoda Scala PHEV 2019 will look like
Škoda reveals the first images of the Škoda Scala and its interior. The Czech brand’s compact plug-in hybrid will reach the market in early 2019.
Škoda has revealed the first images of the interior of the ŠKODA SCALA. This is one of the most important launches of 2019. The Swedish compact will replace the current Skoda Rapid, and its design, both exterior and interior, will be based on the VISION RS concept. The car will offer a plug-in hybrid powertrain (PHEV) that will develop a combined output of 245 CV. As for the interior, the new Skoda Scala debuts the new and attractive design language of the Czech brand, an aesthetic also based on the VISION RS and highlighted by elements such as the central screen in an elevated and forward position or the newly designed digital instrument cluster. We remind you that the Skoda Scala will be officially presented on 6 December in Tel Aviv (Israel).
“The new ŠKODA SCALA is the first production model to feature our new interior concept, with an updated design language along with new colours and materials. Its debut in the SCALA marks the start of a new brand identity that is as emotive as it is functional for ŠKODA,” says Norbert Weber, Head of Interior Design at ŠKODA.

Having seen these first images, it is worth highlighting how much the hand of the VAG group is evident in the interior of this Škoda Scala. The switchgear, the materials, the layout… everything comes across with great sobriety and a high perceived quality, a quality shared by all the models from the German manufacturer.
The 9.2-inch touchscreen, the largest in its segment

One of the most notable elements of the revolutionary interior of the ŠKODA SCALA is its infotainment system with a screen of up to 9.2 inches. It is the largest in its segment – we remind you that this dynamically styled car will rival models such as the Ford Focus and the Seat Leon – and positioned within the field of vision of the driver and front passenger. This freestanding central screen is framed by a design line that repeats the contours of the bonnet.
Ergonomics and spaciousness: the hallmarks of the Škoda Scala’s interior
Furthermore, the car offers unprecedented ergonomics for Škoda’s compact models. The air-conditioning controls (located on the centre console), the start/stop system buttons, the Drive Mode Selector and Park Assist are conveniently placed in front of the gear lever so they can be reached easily.

Moreover, thanks to this open layout, the car gives the impression of offering generous space in the cabin. The side air vents, which extend to the doors, also contribute and amplify the visual impression of spaciousness.
