Old vs. new: two Cadillacs crash for fun

Where would you feel safer? In the bulky, rigid body of a 1962 Cadillac Sedan or in the more modern and lighter one of the 2002 Cadillac DeVille?
That is the question the American programme Stuntbusters has set out to answer. They took the two cars mentioned above and crashed them at a speed of 50 mph (roughly 80 km/h).
According to them the contest is fair, because on the one hand the 1962 Cadillac weighs 450 kg more than the 2002 model, but the latter is more modern and has programmed crumple zones. The aim is to see how vehicle safety has evolved, and 40 years separate these two distant relatives.
After watching the video, is this the result you expected?

saludos!
