Opel Adam: you can now configure it from the comfort of your computer

Customers can already start dreaming about their new Opel Adam, the small city car from Opel, which will arrive in Spain next March. Since Opel is going to offer customers a fairly extensive range of configuration options, a new, very intuitive configurator has been developed that provides plenty of visual information and all the details of the new vehicle.

With this new configurator, customers will be able to choose from 12 body colours, three roof colours and up to 9 upholstery options, depending on the desired trim level. As if that were not enough, 19 dashboard decorations will also be available (two of them backlit with LEDs), ambient lighting packages with 8 different colours and five interior roof trims. These impressive personalisation options are complemented by 31 different wheel designs and packages for each of the models.

And speaking of connectivity, the IntelliLink infotainment system, which integrates the owner’s smartphone with the car (with Android or Apple operating systems), makes it one of the best-connected vehicles. Connection is made via USB or Bluetooth for mass-storage devices, including MP3 players, iPod, iPad, etc.

Beyond connectivity, the Adam also has several driver aids, such as the Parking Assistant, which identifies parking spaces and parks the car automatically. Standard on every Adam is the Electric Power Steering (EPS), which includes a dedicated “City mode” that, at the push of a button, increases assistance at low speeds. The latest-generation ESPPlus is also standard on every Adam. It comes with many useful sub-functions such as ABS and traction control, as well as electronic brake-force distribution, cornering brake control and hill-start assist.

Other systems such as Cruise Control are part of the standard equipment on the Adam JAM, Adam GLAM and Adam SLAM, and include a new speed limiter function that is particularly useful in urban traffic and allows the driver to set a maximum speed from 30 km/h upwards. It also features the FlexFix bicycle carrier system which, when not in use, is almost invisibly stowed like a drawer in the rear bumper.
