Opel already has more than 50,000 orders for its new Crossland X

It has only been a couple of weeks since it arrived at dealerships, but the Crossland X, Opel’s new SUV, has already managed to win over 50,000 customers.

At the end of last March, Opel launched its new small SUV, the Crossland X, which we tested, with the first units starting to be delivered to dealerships this very month of August. Since then, the dealerships of the German brand, now fully integrated into the PSA Group, have received more than 50,000 firm orders for the new model.

“We are very pleased with the demand for the new Opel Crossland X. Our new crossover has style, functionality and a very spacious interior within a compact overall size,” says Opel’s Director of Sales and Aftersales, Peter Küspert, for whom “customers have been attracted by its innovative technologies and options, which confirm our philosophy of making cutting-edge systems and features available to a broad audience.”

The Crossland X is a compact SUV with a modern look, both outside and inside, where it offers a very spacious and versatile cabin. The design and style of the Crossland X are certainly innovative and attractive, with a two-tone exterior finish on its body in a distinctive crossover style.

According to data provided by Opel, customers have been captivated by the on-board technology of the Crossland X. Thus, 50 percent of buyers have requested optional equipment for their Crossland X, such as the rear-view camera or the panoramic rear-view camera (which widens the rearward viewing angle up to 180°).

40 percent of orders have specified the front and rear parking assistant, and 25 percent opt for the latest and most advanced feature, the advanced parking assistant, which identifies by itself the suitable spaces to park the car, carrying out the parking manoeuvres on its own, both when entering the chosen space and when pulling out of it. In these manoeuvres, the driver only needs to take care of pressing the accelerator and brake pedals correctly.

Lighting and comfort also attract Opel customers to the Crossland X. Nearly 20 percent of orders for the new SUV include LED headlights and the AGR ergonomic seats (an accredited certification from the healthy-back campaign) developed by Opel for the driver and front passenger.

As for the most requested trim levels in the range, by far the Excellence trim is the most in demand among the 50,000 orders already received by Opel for the model, followed by the more recent Ultimate trim, which is the new top of the range. With both trims, most customers opted for a two-tone exterior combination for the model, combining the colour contrast between the roof and the rest of the bodywork with the other personalisation elements available in the accessories catalogue that Opel offers for the Crossland X.
