Opel Corsa S, a new version with a sporty character
A new member joins the Opel Corsa family: the S version, with sporty features that sit one step below the OPC version.

The smaller models of Opel are in for a treat: just a day ago it was announced that the KARL, ADAM and Corsa would receive the new Navi 4.0 IntelliLink system with the features of Opel OnStar, and now comes the news of a new version for the Corsa. It is the S version, a designation already found on other models from the German brand, such as the ADAM, and it will sit one step below the most sporty OPC version.
A simple glance is enough to see that this is not a standard Opel Corsa; its design reveals clearly sportier features, something that is available with both three-door and five-door bodywork. Undoubtedly, it is a very valid alternative for all those who do not want to pay the price of the Corsa OPC but do not want to give up that touch of sportiness.

Looking at the exterior changes, we find several pieces that bear the OPC signature: a front spoiler added to the front bumper, another spoiler for the rear, and side skirts. The exterior look is completed by LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels in a two-tone finish with five double spokes, while the mirror housings get a black “Carbon” finish and the exhaust outlets are now chrome.
Turning to the interior, there are various elements that enhance the sporty spirit Opel wanted to instil in the Corsa S, such as the colour combination of its inserts. It features a sport steering wheel flattened at the bottom, upholstered in leather, as well as aluminium pedals. Optionally, you can equip Recaro sport seats in black with a specific design, at an extra cost of 1,350 euros.

Mechanically, the Opel Corsa S will be powered solely by the 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 150 CV and 220 Nm of maximum torque, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. With this engine it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 207 km/h, while average consumption is set at around 8.7 litres per 100 km.
For the moment, the arrival date of the Opel Corsa S on the Spanish market is unknown, and the same goes for the price, although it is known that in Germany it will have a starting price of 18,400 euros for the three-door version and 19,085 euros for the five-door version.
