Vehicle companies seek to increase their sales by offering new products, special promotions and many other deals that can capture the attention of customers. But some firms seek to boost their sales by moving closer to other markets. This is the case of Opel, which plans to considerably expand its business in South Africa.

The German firm seeks to offer the inhabitants of South Africa a new brand among those already present there. In this way, Opel will be able to demonstrate the quality of its products in climatic conditions completely different from those in Europe. They also intend to offer a more attractive and modern product compared with other brands.

To start the new year in a very special way, Opel has decided to begin marketing in South Africa on 1 January 2018. But the brand did not collaborate alone on this occasion and has had the help of Unitrans Automotive, a name very well known in the South African business world. This company already works as the official distributor of other brands, and Opel was not going to be any different.

With the intention of reaching as many customers as possible, Opel will have 35 dealerships throughout South Africa. Some of them will be owned by Unitrans Automotive and others by independent companies. The firm considers that the models that will be most successful in South Africa will be the Grandland X and the Crossland X.

The Grandland X will begin to be sold during the first half of 2018, and later the new generation of the Corsa will be offered, which will arrive shortly, completely changing the German city car. But these are not the only novelties that Opel intends to bring to South Africa. Furthermore, Chevrolet will stop selling in the country and the German firm will take charge of distributing the used vehicles of the American brand.

Right now the Opel Mokka X has been on sale in South Africa for some time and has a total of more than 800,000 units sold since its launch. With the incorporation of the Grandland and Crossland into the South African market, the X family is complete, seeking to considerably increase the sales figures of Opel.

The German firm presents itself as a very worthwhile option when buying a vehicle in South Africa and, together with used Chevrolets, Opel will have a large volume of revenue. At the same time, the brand has its eyes set on the future and intends to enter more than twenty new markets in 2022.
