Pagani Huayra Roadster: the lightest open-top supercar on the market
The Italian open-top supercar will be lighter than the coupé version. The Pagani Huayra will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next March.
In this life there are certain basic laws, such as water being wet, fire burning and convertibles being heavier than the coupés they are based on. Convertible vehicles require structural reinforcement to improve their rigidity. This modification inevitably increases their weight, so a convertible should never be lighter than its coupé counterpart, should it? Well, it seems the new Pagani Huayra Roadster will be the exception that proves the rule. According to Horacio Pagani, owner and founder of the Italian brand, the roadster version of the Italian sports car will be lighter than the Pagani Huayra coupé. “From the outset we set ourselves very ambitious goals. The first, from a technical standpoint, was to create a roadster that was lighter than the coupé version, since at present it is the lightest supercar on sale,” declares the Pagani owner.

There is not yet enough data to explain the impressive weight reduction offered by the new Huayra Roadster, but everything points to the Italian company having used a carbon fibre tub very similar to that of the radical Huayra BC (the model on which the roadster version is inspired).

The official launch of the new Pagani Huayra Roadster is getting closer. The Italian supercar will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show next March.
