Pagani Zonda "La Nonna": one million kilometres covered
Every so often a curious story appears revealing how well a car has withstood the passing of the kilometres. However, it is not common to find high mileage on sports cars, much less on a supercar such as the Pagani Zonda.

Every so often a curious story appears revealing how well a car has withstood the passing of the kilometres.
However, it is not common to find high mileage on sports cars, much less on a supercar such as the Pagani Zonda.
If any of us tried to imagine what it would be like to drive one million kilometres in our own car, more than one of us would break into a cold sweat at the thought of the cost of maintenance, fuel, wear-and-tear parts… and the number of hours spent behind the wheel.
However, if the machine we are driving those one million kilometres is none other than a Pagani Zonda, the situation changes. Still, we are not talking about just any Zonda, since the unit in question is not owned by a customer or anyone similar. It is one of the first units built by the brand, which was used for testing and trialling various parts over many years.

The “mission” of this unit has meant that, finally, the vehicle has surpassed one million kilometres covered, which is undoubtedly an absolute record for this model. To celebrate and pay tribute to it as it deserves, the team at Pagani has decided to restore it so that it shines once again with the “lustre” it enjoyed back in 1998, when it left the factory. It also coincides with the birthday of the founder and owner of the brand, Horacio Pagani, who turns 60 these days.
This unit has been nicknamed “La Nonna” (the grandmother) in reference to its long life, and now, after being restored down to the millimetre, it will become part of the brand’s museum, which will soon open its doors at the brand’s own factory in San Cesario sul Panaro, Italy.
