Paramount Marauder Mark 2, the South African military vehicle that dares to take on anything
The company specialised in off-road combat vehicles has unveiled the second generation of the Marauder, armoured and with off-road capabilities.

Military vehicles often surprise with their performance. They are vehicles that need very high off-road capabilities and must also protect their occupants. Several brands specialise in this type of vehicle, such as South Africa’s Paramount.
A few years ago, the company presented the Marauder, a vehicle designed to serve in any army in the world. In 2022, the company wanted to go a step further and presented a second generation of this military vehicle, which is supposed to increase the model’s capabilities.

The most important changes
One of the most important changes found in this second version of the Marauder is the armour. All vehicles now feature reinforcement that helps prevent the effects of gunfire and even explosions. The armour used allows it to withstand impacts from 7.62×51 mm NATO rounds. The seats are protected against explosions, and the underbody can withstand the blast of up to 8 kg of TNT.
The windows are small, as they are vulnerable points and could pose a risk to the occupants. Another feature added in the new generation of the Marauder is the option to switch the steering wheel from right-hand drive to left-hand drive.
This will make the Marauder suitable for many markets, and the steering wheel position can even be changed at the destination. The interchangeable front modules allow this change to be carried out in just two hours, so it is very easy to adapt it for use at any time.
Inside there is room for the driver and front passenger, while the rear has space for transporting cargo. It is offered in several configurations, from ambulance to command post, including infantry support and other functions.
It is powered by a six-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which offers considerable power, although no details about its output have been provided. It has a range of 700 kilometres and can reach a top speed of 110 km/h.
