Passat 2008 prices and arrival of the R-Line in February

We start with the Ford Focus 2008 and its complete price list, and we continue with that of the Volkswagen Passat. We also take the opportunity to report on the arrival of the R version to the Spanish market.

The Volkswagen Passat R-Line will be available in Spain in February 2008, as announced by the manufacturer, and will feature the new 1.8-litre TSI engine, with 160 CV of power. It will start at 30,240 euros, while the standard versions will be available from 28,150 euros.

This new trim is distinguished not only by its engine, but the exterior of the vehicle is also different, with 17″ tyres, larger bumpers, a small rear spoiler and chrome trim on the front grille, plus the “R-Line” badge on the sides of the bodywork.

Likewise, the seats will be sportier, with a three-spoke steering wheel and metallic finishes on the dashboard and centre console, a gear lever knob with leather trim and the accelerator pedal also finished in aluminium. The ParkAssist parking assistance system is also included on the Variant version.

As for the R-Line engines, apart from the aforementioned 1.8 TSI, it can also be purchased with the 200 CV 2.0 TSI, with an optional automatic gearbox. In diesel, there is the 140 CV 2.0-litre TDI and the 170 CV 2.0 TDI, with manual or DSG automatic gearboxes, and with optional 4Motion all-wheel drive on the former (the 140 CV one).
