Pininfarina agrees with the Bolloré Group to produce the BlueCar for AutoLib

The possibility of leasing a battery-electric Pininfarina B0 for approximately 330 euros a month had been put in jeopardy after it became known at the end of last year that Pininfarina could opt to abandon the project in exchange for 10 million euros.
But yesterday Pininfarina reached an initial agreement with Bolloré, and the B0 will, for the time being, become a reality. The project has now been steered towards Bolloré using this vehicle as part of the AutoLib fleet in France. AutoLib is a French company dedicated to car-sharing, the rental of cars for short periods of time.
Pininfarina will lease one of its plants to a third party (Cecomp), which will be responsible for manufacturing the 4,000 units originally promised. In this way, Pininfarina pockets 14 million euros without moving a single tool and without jeopardising the small BlueCar.
