Porsche will not renew its contract with Valmet

In an official statement issued today, Porsche announced that it will not renew its contract for 2012 with Valmet Automotive.
According to Vice President of Porsche, Holger P. Härter, the Finnish manufacturer has reached a high level of development, and the quality of its engines will quickly open new doors for it.
Over the last eleven years, Valmet has produced engines for more than 200,000 sports cars, the Boxster and Cayman, but after the contract expires, the Austrian company Magna Steyr will take over responsibility.
We cannot yet imagine what the impact will be on consumers once the supplier change is made, or what the benefits for the company will be, but there must be a good reason why Porsche has made this decision.
