Porsche will return to the NAIAS 2011
The German company announced that it will take part again in the Detroit Show. It seems that the decision to regain prominence at the NAIAS is due to the boost the manufacturer wants to give to the models that will go on sale in the North American market from 2011 onwards.
Let us recall that Porsche withdrew from the Detroit Show in 2008 stating that it wanted to offer a direct and personal experience to its potential customers. However, the German company remained one of the most prominent attractions at the Los Angeles Show, a decision that caused a certain unease among the NAIAS organisers.
The Detroit Show now looks set to be one of the most interesting showcases of the coming year, as the organisers have announced that 500 brands will present the best of their range, and it even seems that some of the manufacturers that stayed away from the event (Ferrari, Infiniti, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Rolls Royce and Suzuki) are interested in returning.
For the moment, only Porsche has confirmed its presence at the NAIAS, and it is even believed that it could unveil an electric prototype as part of its car display.
