Production Cyberster EV leaked!
The highly anticipated MG Cyberster EV could reach the market ahead of schedule following a leak of the production version’s patent.

As you may well know, MG has been revived a few months ago. Granted, it has made its strongly electrified character and clear focus on SUVs unmistakable. However, not all of its models will come with SUV bodies. Last April, we got to meet the concept of the MG Cyberster EV, which turned out to be a true revelation, as the model is set to go into production.
Well then, the electric sports car from MG is closer than you think, since the patents for the production model have just been leaked. Although, to be fair, the production version is considerably more conservative than the concept we saw last April.
In the leaked 3D images, it seems quite clear that the MG Cyberster EV is a convertible, and we could even say it features a soft top. Overall it has sporty proportions, but less radical than those of the concept.
Everything we know about the new MG Cyberster EV
Looking at the front, we can say the production model presents a very similar design. It also has smaller air intakes and more conventional headlights. That “two-tone lowering” is dominant across the entire electric sports car, and the wheel design clearly respects the original. The same goes for the side skirts and/or the rear. The sports car now has arrow-tip taillights.

For now, the powertrain and its performance have not been confirmed. It is only known that it will be fully electric and that it will not follow in the footsteps of the concept, which had four electric motors allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. In addition, it promised a range of around 800 kilometres on a single charge.
The leak of the patents for the new MG Cyberster EV implies the project is already at a very advanced stage, so we may be able to see the new MG Cyberster EV during the next 2023 or even sooner. This would considerably bring forward the brand’s predictions, which pointed to the launch of the electric sports car in 2024, the year the manufacturer celebrates its centenary.
