Sedans Electric Cars Industry Technology
Production model of the Coda presented

Almost unexpectedly, last month the details of the Coda Sedan Electric Car were revealed, a product from a new independent American company, joining the already sizeable group of electric cars. Broadly speaking, the Coda is a Chinese-American car built under the direction of Coda Automotive in China (the Hafei Saibao), from where the batteries and the electric powertrain also come.
This model has been adapted to suit the tastes of the American driver, equipped with better interior finishes and a more spacious cabin, the latest changes made by Coda Automotive. It also features a screen in the centre of the dashboard, serving as the entertainment centre and on-board computer.

The production model shown here would also feature multiple airbags, something missing from the original Chinese model. But despite the changes and improvements, the Coda would be manufactured directly in the USA, thanks to Obama’s loans to promote the marketing of electric cars. Its batteries would also be produced in the USA, and the first deliveries are planned for the end of the year.
As for the marketing strategy for this car, Hawaii would be the first place in the American union to receive it (the paradisiacal islands are on their way to becoming the mecca of electric vehicles).
It is contradictory that while most models made in China are more or less despised around the world, and even more so in the USA, an unknown Chinese car is being used as a benchmark against the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt. It seems that as long as it has an electric motor, the fact that it is Chinese is easily forgotten.
