Proton studies manufacturing the EMAS Concept

Let’s recap a bit regarding the EMAS Concept. This electric car is 99% similar to the Lotus CityCar Concept, about which our Highmotor team at the Paris Motor Show brought us some additional details and its corresponding image. Lotus shyly showed the little electric car in Paris, since it had other priorities (and what priorities!).
But now its partner in Malaysia, Proton, has taken the bull by the horns and has decided to start exploring the ground to bring its own model to market which, as we said, is similar to the Lotus prototype.
Proton’s idea is to try to capture the market of Southeast Asia and India with this electric car. Although in shape the EMAS is similar to the Lotus City Car, the Lotus version is expected to be a little more refined and… sportier and to have even more powerful electric motors.
To boost production of the EMAS Concept, the participation of companies in Europe and Japan would be required, something the Malaysians are already working on. It is to be hoped that with the support of Lotus, no distributor will be too distrustful of Proton’s electric car project for the region of the world that could be one of the most important in the future of electric cars.
