PSA's Vigo plant reaches 11 million units produced

Since the 1958 opening of the PSA plant in Vigo up to today, a total of 11 million vehicles have been produced. This makes it the group’s plant that has reached this figure in the shortest period of time.

The vehicle that has reached this round figure is a Citroën C-Elysée equipped with the 92 CV HDi engine of power. This model has been in production in Vigo since the month of September and is enjoying great popularity thanks to its launch in numerous markets, including the domestic one.

This plant is undoubtedly one of the most profitable in the group, producing some 1,600 units every day of the six models manufactured there: Grand C4 Picasso, C4 Picasso, Berlingo, Peugeot 301, Partner and the C-Elysée itself. Over these more than 50 years, numerous models have passed through its assembly lines: Xsara, GS, BX, AX…, but the one that has been produced for the longest time is none other than the iconic Citroën 2CV, which lasted 25 years. As for units produced, the top places go to the Xsara Picasso and the previous version of the Berlingo, with production of 1.5 million units each.
