Qoros 5, the Chinese SUV to be shown at the 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show

Little is known about this model yet, but we are sure it will become Qoros’s flagship, sitting at the very top of the range. The Qoros 5 will be presented at the 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show, where we will see how it is built and what it will bring to lead the Chinese brand’s offering.
From what we know so far, it is built on the same platform as the Qoros 3, both the saloon and the City SUV version. Its exterior design shares some similarities with the latter. It is larger than this model and its ground clearance is also higher. It has chrome door handles and a chrome trim at the rear, something that can also be seen on the smaller model.

The front end is somewhat reminiscent of the Range Rover Evoque when viewed from the side, but beyond that, there is little more to say about this comparison. Under its bonnet sits a 1.6-litre engine, producing 156 CV. It is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, according to the first information provided, although this is not official.
This model could also have all-wheel drive, though this is not confirmed. According to what is known about this model, the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is put at 10 seconds, and if it keeps the same engine as the Qoros 3, as expected, it will be somewhat slower and will feel less agile than that model. But, as we said, we are talking about forecasts and not official data, so we will have to wait for the official presentation.
The 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show opens its doors on November 20, and we are looking forward to more news that will be presented during the event, which is usually the starting point for some of the most popular models on the Chinese market.
