Rain Prisk turns the ugliest cars in the world into Cinderellas

Remember Breaking Bad, the television series? In that acclaimed and memorable TV fiction we saw a rather peculiar car, the one driven by the protagonist, Walter White. It was a Pontiac Aztek, deliberately chosen for the series because it is one of the cars considered the ugliest in the world. And it’s no wonder. It has a body with strange shapes that should probably never have left any design table, but for some strange reason it made it into production and even sold a little.

These improved models are a virtual recreation, though you’d love to see them in realityOf course, it was not a great sales success and within a short time it disappeared from the market, leaving behind the aura of myth that comes from being precisely that: one of the ugliest cars of all time. But as I said, that is what made it an iconic car despite its looks. And this has allowed an artist who creates virtual car designs to take notice of it and work to give it an appearance that, certainly, has little of the ugly about it.

It has been given a racing look and equipped with small elements that make the most of that body, which today would have no chance of reaching the market. The mudguards give it a more aggressive look, and the color used makes it stand out more for that than for the design of the car itself.

An air intake on the hood also helps the change of image, although it keeps the rain deflectors on the windows and the roof rails, which are part of the model’s aesthetic signature. Not everything has to be changed. And on the front door we find a small Easter egg, a gift from the designer, which we invite you to discover… Did you spot it?

The car is a digital reproduction, so you won’t find it on the market. But it is commendable that the artist took the time to look for the beautiful side of such a monstrosity. And even more so, seeing how he has improved another of those cars that seem to be the nightmare of any designer, one that is better known to us, Spanish users.

This is the Fiat Multipla, a car that certainly attracts attention and has also received this artist’s treatment. I must say that it does not manage to improve the car’s strange design in any way, but we can say it is an original way of trying. If you want to see it, this article includes images of both cars so you can judge them. Does its style really improve?
