Recall for Evora Lotus built between 2010 and 2011
Lotus has launched a recall for all Evoras built between September 2010 and September 2011, due to a malfunctioning oil circuit hose that may rupture. If this were to happen, it could lead to an accident. Owners have already been notified.

Lotus has just announced that it will carry out a recall for those Evora models built between September 2010 and September 2011. This is a precautionary recall that the company has launched voluntarily.
In this case, we are talking about a possible oil leak that could end up flooding the engine bay with the fluid, with the drawbacks this entails.
Specifically, an engine lubrication circuit hose suffers abnormal stress due to its incorrect positioning inside the engine bay, which in extreme cases may cause it to rupture. Should that happen, the instrument cluster would display the relevant warnings, but the damage from the oil spill in the engine would already be done.
Furthermore, if the car continues to be driven under these conditions, the engine could seize due to lack of lubrication, in addition to the hazards it could pose to other road users should the oil end up on the carriageway.

Lotus reports more than 80 Evoras affected in the USA alone, although it is logical to assume the number will be higher given its worldwide sales. Of course, the warning has already been issued by sending letters to owners, who will need to visit the brand’s service centres so that their sports cars can be inspected, at no cost to them.
The brand recommends carrying out this operation as soon as possible to avoid potential incidents.
