Renault announces the Scénic and Grand Scénic Collection
The compact MPVs of the French diamond are updated inside and out, mechanically, as well as with richer technology and comfort equipment. It will go on sale in January 2012.

In the midst of a whirlwind of novelties from Los Angeles and Tokyo, Renault has dared to grab attention by presenting a new version of the Scénic in its two body styles. This surprise restyling tackles almost every front of the model, so that when it arrives in January it will not let its rivals take away its space. A good idea for preparing for the arrival of the new Opel Zafira Tourer.
Its styling, without reaching revolutionary changes, evolves towards sobriety but also towards a more elegant expression, much as has happened with the Koleos. Both the Scénic and the Grand Scénic receive new headlights and a redesigned front bumper, which includes LED strips. The five-seat body features a central black chrome section, while the seven-seat version has just a grille that runs across its full width. This latter version also has a small grille between the headlights.

The side is distinguished by the chrome strip along the lower part of the doors, while at the rear this finish appears on the strip above the number plate recess. The rear light clusters of the Scénic are also changed to a different colour. Finally, new alloy wheel designs and body paint colours will be offered.
The improvements continue into the cabin, as more colour options will be available (beige for the Expression and Initiale/Privilège, and carbon black for the latter two), new fabric upholstery and an additional leather and Alcantara pack. Many of these options will be standard on the Bose Edition trim level, which will no longer be a limited edition.

The Scénic and Grand Scénic Collection will be the first models in Renault’s range to debut the new Energy dCi engine of 110 CV, replacing the 1.5 of the same power. Its average consumption is 4.1 l/100 km and its CO2 emissions are 105 g/km. They will also offer the Energy TCe of 115 CV, which replaces the 1.6i 16V and whose average consumption is reduced by 1.6 litres compared with the previous one. Its other available engine will be the Energy dCi of 130 CV, which uses 4.4 l/100 km and emits 135 g/km of CO2.
The Collection’s equipment is completed with new systems such as the Visio System (night vision + lane departure warning + automatic switching from main to dipped beams when another car approaches), the integration of the Carminat TomTom navigation with the Bose sound system, and the hill start assist, fitted as standard.
