Renault Clio Generation, a limited edition loaded with equipment for less than 17,000 euros
Renault launches the Clio Generation, a limited edition with more equipment than the base trim but at a lower price

In previous generations of the Renault Megane, the French manufacturer also offered an edition called Generation, whose idea was to attract new customers with a compact car featuring more standard equipment at a very competitive price. That same idea and proposition now carries over to the Renault Clio, its popular vehicle with more than 16 million units sold worldwide since 1980 and more than one million in Spain.
The years go by and the Renault Clio remains an attractive proposition for many Spanish customers, although it may be an option to consider even more closely thanks to the limited edition Clio Generation offered by the French brand, which sits one step above the entry-level trim called Evolution. To find out whether the Clio Generation is a more than interesting option, let us first look at what the entry-level trim, the Evolution trim, comes with:
- 16-inch steel wheels with wheel trims
- Mirror housings in gloss black
- Grey fabric upholstery with a 3D pattern
- Height-adjustable driver’s seat
- TEP-upholstered steering wheel
- Electrically adjustable mirrors with manually folding function
- Electric front and rear windows
- Manual air conditioning
- Easy Link infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen
- 7-inch digital instrument cluster
- Safe distance alert
- Emergency braking assistance
- Driver fatigue detection alert
- Assisted emergency braking
- Lane keeping assist
- ESC dynamic stability control with hill start assist
- Rear parking sensors
- Cruise control

In this way, taking the above equipment as a base, the limited edition Clio Generation adds to all of the above elements such as the following:
- Look Pack
- 16-inch Boavista alloy wheels
- Chrome grille
- Tinted rear windows
- Rear-view camera
- Luggage net hooks
For an extra cost of just 220 euros, Renault allows the card with hands-free access to be fitted, although it is better to equip it with the Keyless Pack at a cost of only 270 euros, as it would include the following elements:
- Hands-free card
- Exterior mirrors with electric adjustment, anti-frost and electric folding
- Light sensor
- Rain sensor
In addition, Renault will allow the Clio Generation to be chosen with the TCe 90 engine, consisting of a three-cylinder turbo petrol unit with 90 CV and 160 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. If you prefer a bit more power and a more sustainable engine, you can also opt for the ECO-G unit, which with a power output of 100 CV and a torque of 170 Nm combines the use of petrol and LPG, achieving a combined range of more than 1,000 kilometres.
With all this, the Renault Clio Generation will have a starting price in Spain of 16,590 euros, which places it below the entry-level Evolution trim. The brand has already accepted orders for this new limited edition.
